After spending two years under another doctor, and to be told because of the size of my fibroid tumour, I could only have a full hysterectomy. It was only until I met with Mr Ramsey did everything change and more options opened up. Not only did my surgery and recovery go excellently, but the before care and consideration was excellent. I couldn't praise Mr Ramsey enough for performing my myomectomy and giving back my old life again before Fibroids!! Excellent doctor!! Thank you!

I had a total abdominal hysterectomy two weeks ago at the Peterborough City Hospital under the great care of Mr Ramsay. Prior to the surgery I had met Mr Ramsay 3 times at the outpatient unit and each time he came across as a thorough professional who explained the process well to me and my husband, which made us both feel confident and at ease. After the surgery I was in the hospital for 3 days and every morning Mr Ramsay came to see me to make sure I was recovering well and answered any query or concern I had and shared useful tips for recovery as a result of which I find myself recovering faster. Mr Ramsay is not only a great surgeon, he is also a genuinely caring person with great manners, warm smile and a good sense of humour. I would highly recommend him to others and can assure that under his care, you are in good hands! My sincere thanks to Mr Ramsay and the nursing team at the Peterborough City Hospital.

I started Nursing 38 years ago. One of my additional roles is Infection Prevention and controll link nurse and I am a Student Nurse Mentor. I mention this as I am extremely difficult to please when it comes to high standards and levels of cleanliness and care. People that work with me know how fussy I am. I expect to be shown kindness and care as well as being treated with respect and skill when I am a patient. My experience of Mr Ramsay and his team and colleagues only started six weeks ago. In that time my high expectations have been totally surpassed. I had a very small vaginal bleed on the 3rd January 2019. This culminated in a total laparoscopic hysterectomy for grade 1a endometrial cancer on the 13th February 2019. Mr Ramsay is very professional in his manner which helped me to feel confident in his ability. I wouldn't have had surgery at Peterborough hospital if I didn't feel like I would be well looked after. From the first visit to the outpatients clinic I was observing for levels of cleanliness and high standards and wasn't disappointed. I had, of course, researched Mr Ramsay as a surgeon in advance. I was extremely well looked after by the whole team and the post operative period had been equally impressive. It's amazing what they can do through little incisions. Mr Ramsay came to see me on the evening of the day of the surgery to explain his findings. It was 8pm and I had seen him that day at 0800 prior to the surgery so I really appreciated him taking the time and care to see me at the end of a long day. The first morning post op I was able to get out of bed with very little discomfort. My wounds have looked incredibly clean from when I took my first tentative look, I am now 4 days post op. I have continued to feel better each day which can only reflect the skill of Mr Ramsay as a surgeon. I am totally impressed and would recommend Mr Ramsay as a surgeon.

Dr Ramsay and his team were all amazing. I feel he listened to me and I that he treated me as an individual, not just a condition. He explained my condition and options well and in depth and ensured that I fully understood everything before making a decision on my care. Once the decision for surgery was made he kept me informed and was there to support throughout. His infectious smile and happy manor were both calming and reassuring. He is an amazing surgeon and I was left with minimal pain and scaring. I would definitely recommend him as a consultant and surgeon and I'd like to thank him and his team for all they did for me.
